Located in Seine-Martime at Seine's mouth, Le Havre's harbour is the origin of the city created in 1517 by François 1er. Nowadays, it's the first french port regarding containers'traffic (52nd world rank) and the fifth european port. It's 7 days travelling from New York City and Greenwich meridian crosses ist seawalls at 7 km distant.
Le Havre's harbour is also a marina and a fishing harbour. Several painters found inspiration in Le Havre's port and it has been illustrated by the most important artistic waves.
